The European Commission has placed ChatGPT in the Digital Services Act's category for very large online search engines, and Reddit and Roblox in the equivalent category for very large platforms. All three reported at least 45 million average monthly users in the EU, the threshold for designation. They have four months, until January 2027, to meet the extra duties, which include assessing and reducing risks such as illegal content, harm to minors and threats to elections.
