GitHub is enforcing a global default policy for Copilot features. It applies to eligible settings on Features & clients and MCP servers. Unconfigured features will adopt the global default of Enabled, Disabled or Let organizations decide. The change is one-time and does not override explicit choices. Preview features remain opt-in. The rollout is gradual through 26 October. Admins can review the setting under AI Controls → Copilot → Default policy for new features.
