Regulation2026-11-02

President Trump signed an executive order directing US agencies to rebrand artificial intelligence as Super Intelligence. The term was chosen over Extreme Intelligence and Supreme Intelligence from a public poll. Government websites and solicitations now use Super Intelligence or SI in place of AI. Some agencies have not fully adopted the change and continue to use AI. The order does not apply to previously issued regulations or documents. Government employees are still adjusting to using the new term in speech. Trump criticized the Wall Street Journal for not using Super Intelligence. A White House Accord on Super Intelligence was signed by six major tech executives. Only Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk have used the term consistently in public. The rebrand may turn terminology into a political loyalty test. The change risks politicizing public discussions about AI.

What changed
