FANUC launched the AI Welding Agent for arc welding. It reads engineering drawings and sets welding parameters and robot motions. The system uses Google’s Gemini Enterprise for AI processing. No extra cameras or devices are needed at production sites. User data is protected by enterprise-grade security. Shipments begin at the end of December 2026. A live demo runs at the International Welding Show from 16 September. It works with any welding power source connected to a FANUC robot. Operators can fine-tune AI-generated parameters before welding. FANUC and Google collaborated on the development.
What changed
Arc welding programs required manual setup and teaching for each part.
