Anthropic has settled how its most expensive Claude model, Fable 5, is sold to subscribers from 20 July. Max and Team Premium plans keep it permanently but only up to half their standard weekly usage allowance, which itself falls the same day as a temporary boost to Claude Code limits ends. Pro and Team Standard subscribers lose the bundled access and instead get a one-time usage credit, after which they pay per-token API rates.
What changed
Fable 5 had been bundled into Pro and Team Standard subscriptions on a temporary basis, extended three times since the model's June 9 launch.
What it unlocks
Max and Team Premium subscribers get Fable 5 as a permanent plan entitlement rather than a repeatedly extended trial.
- Fable 5 included at 50% of standard weekly limits for Max and Team Premium
- one-time $100 usage credit for Pro and Team Standard
- $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens
- GPT-5.6 Sol at $5 input / $30 output per million tokens
What you need to act on it
- Max or Team Premium plan for continued included access
- per-token API billing once the $100 credit is spent
