Stryker completed the first surgery using SportSuite Vision on Apple Vision Pro. A surgeon at Duke Health performed a hip arthroscopy with the system. The US Food and Drug Administration authorized the software on 17 July. Stryker says it is the first application cleared for use during surgery with the Apple headset. The software shows arthroscopic video, CT images and its HipCheck and HipMap tools in the surgeon's view. It is meant to cut reliance on the several monitors placed around the operating room. Its authorized use covers specific hip procedures only. Other operating room staff must still use traditional monitors. The surgeon who performed the case is a paid Stryker consultant.
