Release2026-08-27

NVIDIA said its first in-house server processor, Vera, is now shipping at scale, with the first systems hand-delivered to AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Anthropic, OpenAI and SpaceXAI. The chip is aimed at the coordination and tool-running work that AI agents place on ordinary processors rather than on graphics chips. Oracle plans to deploy hundreds of thousands of the CPUs starting in 2026, and AWS has received only its first unit so far.

What changed

Vera was announced in May 2026 with hand-delivered first units to a few AI labs and Oracle.

What it unlocks

  • 1.2TB/s memory bandwidth
  • up to 1.8x faster per-core
  • 2 million additional GPUs for AWS
