OpenAI launched Computer History, a ChatGPT feature for macOS that records clicks, keystrokes, keyboard shortcuts and app switches and turns them into a searchable memory the assistant can use. It takes no screenshots, screen recordings or audio, and private browsing is excluded, but the memory files sit on the machine as unencrypted plain text that any program under the same account could read. The feature is not offered in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the UK.
