President Trump rejected calls for new AI safety rules on Monday. He wrote that the only guardrail AI needs is a strong and smart president. He called fears of AI destroying humanity a hoax. It was his second such post in a 12-hour span and the third pushback in three days. Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei led weekend calls for slower AI development and tighter rules. Sam Altman and Elon Musk also said AI is growing more powerful than people can monitor. Trump singled out Amodei and said his administration already holds criminal and regulatory power over AI firms. The Pentagon has previously labelled Anthropic a supply-chain risk and stalled its Mythos model. David Sacks, Trump's former AI czar, also argued no regulatory framework is needed. China's Foreign Ministry separately criticised calls to slow AI work.
