Anthropic has hired Amir Salek, who helped start Google's custom chip program and led its tensor processing unit business until 2022, as it prepares to design its own semiconductors. Salek joins Anthropic's compute team and reports to James Bradbury. No chip, timeline or manufacturing partner was announced.
