Mews launched its point-of-sale system in the United States and Canada on 1 September. The system lets hotels run property management, payments and food and beverage through one interface. Mews POS already operates in more than 20 countries in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Founder Richard Valtr said it removes end-of-shift manual reconciliation between separate systems. In separate hotel news, MGM Resorts began a $107 million renovation of the Borgata Tower in Atlantic City. Work starts on 13 September, with refreshed rooms available from October and the wider overhaul running into 2027. Hotel Equities also took over management of three Lodgic Hospitality hotels in Austin, Texas.
