Apple announced a new Mac mini built around its M6 and M5 Pro chips, which the company says runs AI tasks up to four times faster than the previous model. The M5 Pro version supports up to 64GB of memory and can be linked with other units to run large models on the machine itself rather than in the cloud. Pre-orders opened on 25 August, with delivery from 22 September in 30 countries.

What changed

The previous Mac mini used M4 and M4 Pro chips, without neural accelerators in each graphics core.
