Google Sheets now supports compact form layout for pivot tables. It nests all row fields in a single column with indentation. Outline form remains the default option. Excel files with compact form pivot tables now import without layout changes. The layout is preserved when exporting back to Excel. Rapid Release domains began receiving it on October 22, 2026. Scheduled Release domains start on November 6, 2026. It is available to all Google Workspace customers and personal account users.
