A new consolidated version of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act now reflects amendments made by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 of 8 July 2026, applying from 27 July 2026. The changes touch the Act's scope and its innovation-support provisions, which now single out small mid-cap companies alongside small and medium-sized firms, and alter which articles apply to high-risk systems already covered by other EU product legislation. The consolidated text is a documentation aid and has no legal force on its own.
What changed
The AI Act had stood as adopted on 13 June 2024, with the only consolidated version dating from 12 July 2024.
