Perplexity updated its Agent API to support reusable agents. Teams can now create versioned Profiles, Skills, and managed connectors. Profiles store an agent’s model, instructions, tools, Skills, connectors, and run settings under one ID. Project administrators can share these resources across applications. Developers can reuse the same configuration without rebuilding it. Managed connectors are available in preview for GitHub, Slack, Google Drive, Datadog, Linear, and Notion. Custom connectors can be added for internal systems. Teams can update shared resources as workflows change. The API Console is where administrators configure these resources. Project members reference them in Agent API requests using a project API key.
What changed
Agents were configured individually for each application with no shared resources.
What it unlocks
Reusing the same agent configuration, tools, and instructions across multiple applications.
What you need to act on it
- an Agent API project
- project administrator access to configure shared resources
