Canva released its first image generation model, Canva Craft. It interprets prompts in two stages to plan spatial relationships and text. The model generates images up to 2K resolution in 30 aspect ratios. It produces accurate object details and legible text. Generated images can be converted into layered designs using Canva Magic. Canva Craft is available to all users via the Dream Lab tab. It is also accessible through the Canva API. Third-party chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini will support it via Canva’s MCP. Two faster versions, Craftfast and Craft-ultrafast, are coming soon. The model was trained on Canva’s own design templates, not photographs.
