Release2026-11-04

Amazon is deploying 5,000 smart glasses to delivery drivers this year. The glasses show navigation and drop-off instructions in the driver’s field of view. They guide drivers through each step, from package confirmation to proof of delivery. Hundreds of drivers have used them since last year. Amazon aims to deploy over 20,000 by the end of 2027. The glasses flag issues like pets or address mismatches during delivery. Images captured are anonymized, with faces and license plates blurred. The glasses do not record video or audio. Feedback led to moving the battery and hardware into a vest controller. Privacy controls include encryption and automatic deletion of images.
