Meta acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup. Conductor lets engineers deploy teams of agents to work on different parts of a project at once. The startup’s cloud service will shut down on November 20. User cloud data will then be deleted. Conductor’s other features will keep working until early next year. Meta confirmed the deal but gave no further details. Conductor was founded in 2024 and launched its core product last summer. Its agents come from labs like Anthropic and OpenAI. Conductor’s CEO, Charlie Holtz, will work with Meta’s Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman. Meta has been expanding its AI services, including its own coding agent, Muse Code.
What changed
Conductor operated independently with its own cloud service and product roadmap.
What it unlocks
Meta gains a platform for deploying multiple AI agents to work in parallel on software projects.
