Tencent released Hy4, its latest open-source large language model. It ranks among the world’s leading open-source AI models. Hy4 adds visual understanding for the first time. It also improves instruction following, long-context comprehension and long-horizon tasks. The model supports fine-grained image processing, chart analysis and mathematical visual reasoning. Hy4 can now interact with command-line and graphical interfaces. It has specialized training on software like Blender and CAD. Model weights and system cards will be released in the coming days. Hy4 focuses on cybersecurity and biological safety. It was trained on defensive security data, excluding offensive materials. Security assessments found no significant offensive cybersecurity concerns. Hy4 excels in office productivity, financial analysis, frontend and game development, and scientific research. It achieved top scores in WorkBuddy benchmarks and financial evaluations.
