Home Depot and Lowe’s both launched AI assistants for home improvement shoppers. Home Depot’s Magic Apron focuses on solving problems across the entire project journey. It added localized store knowledge to guide customers to products in their nearest store. Magic Apron also supports tutorials and project walkthroughs using voice, text or photos. Lowe’s Mylow aims to act like a personal store associate with deep customer context. Mylow Memory uses past interactions and purchases to tailor advice. Mylow users show a three times higher online conversion rate than non-users. Both retailers continue refining their assistants as customer habits evolve. Home Depot reports millions of monthly questions to Magic Apron. Lowe’s says Mylow has handled over 25 million questions so far.
