GitHub has made the Copilot harness generally available in its plugin for JetBrains development tools, moving it out of testing for all users of the plugin. A built-in connector that lets agents use the development tool's own features is now in public preview. The release also adds a review command inside the editor and fixes to sign-in, model selection and session handling.
What changed
Copilot harness was available only in preview in the JetBrains plugin, and JetBrains IDE capabilities had to be exposed through externally configured MCP servers.
What it unlocks
Using the Copilot harness agent, including its code review command, directly inside JetBrains IDEs, and connecting the IDE's own tools to agents without setting up an external server.
What you need to act on it
