Microsoft launched Copilot for Legal. It adds 20 legal skills to Word and Cowork. Word handles document drafting, review and tracked changes. Cowork manages multi-step workflows across files and apps. Skills include drafting, contract review, obligation tracking, research and matter management. Plugin partners span research, document management, e-signature and legal AI. LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters are not listed as data-sharing partners. The rollout starts today for existing Copilot license holders. Two Microsoft plugins replace the earlier Legal Agent. Partner plugins arrive via the Microsoft registry over time.
