Release2026-10-13

Google AI Studio now lets anyone build personal Android apps. The apps run on the user’s own device. They launch from a private part of Google Play. They do not appear in the public Play Store. Users can share apps with friends and family in the coming months. A pipeline exists to move apps to a professional developer account. The tool uses prompts to generate the app. Users can edit or scrap the app after creation. There is no charge to build or experiment.

What changed

Personal Android apps required a professional developer account and USB debugging.
