Release2026-10-22

Patrick Passos released Renor Engine, a self-hosted memory system for coding agents. It stores notes as Markdown files in a local folder. Agents like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can recall these notes across sessions. The system runs locally and requires no account or API key. A hosted version is available at renor.cloud. The project is open-source under AGPL-3.0. It connects to agents via the Model Context Protocol. Users can index their notes and search them with exact matches or embeddings. Embeddings require an external model or local setup. The engine supports single-owner use only.

What it unlocks

Coding agents can recall past decisions and notes across sessions using local Markdown files.
