Regulation2026-10-11

Utah’s Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy and Division of Professional Licensing signed a regulatory mitigation agreement with August Labs. The agreement grants limited relief from Utah licensing laws for August Labs’ AI services. The mitigation applies only to activities outlined in August Labs’ submitted Proposal. The agreement lasts twelve months from the date August Labs notifies the Office its AI technology is available. August Labs must follow all safety protocols and reporting requirements in the Proposal. The Office can terminate the agreement if August Labs fails to meet obligations. August Labs must submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Office. The Office will make quarterly reports public. August Labs cannot disclaim liability for physical or legal harm from its AI outputs. August Labs must comply with Utah data privacy and cybersecurity requirements. The agreement does not endorse August Labs or its technology. Utah law governs the agreement.
