Google updated Meridian, its open-source tool for measuring which media channels drive sales. New AI agents help marketers check data quality, fix errors and guide model building as it happens. Google also reworked the back end for more speed. Marketers can now feed in brand-building signals to measure TV and out-of-home campaigns. Those channels are harder to track than digital advertising. Meridian GeoX, a test tool for geography-based measurement that works across publishers, is now available worldwide after a beta. Google is also wiring Data Manager into Google Analytics and Display & Video 360. A new Data Strength Uplift Metric in Google Ads estimates conversions recovered from a marketer's own customer data. Critics note Google is grading its own advertising performance.
What changed
Meridian measured mainly digital channels and left data checks to manual work.
What it unlocks
Modelling TV and out-of-home spend inside Meridian, with AI checking data quality as the model is built.
