Vercel published its October 2026 AI Gateway production index. Open-weight models now process 71.5% of gateway tokens. They take 23% of gateway spend. Spend rose 13 times since December 2025. Cost per token fell 47% over the same period. Nearly 70% of spend on Chinese models went through US-based providers. Jev reached 35% of paid teams in its first two weeks. Jev accounted for 0.27% of spend in that time. Opus 5.5 took over 10% of spend in its first two weeks. Almost one in three teams changed their most-used lab in September.
