Euclyd, a Dutch chip startup, raised a $231 million Series A. Samsung co-led the round with Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries. The Scaleup Europe Fund is managed by EQT. Euclyd is designing a chip and memory system for running AI models, using a different design to Nvidia's graphics processors. Chief executive Bernardo Kastrup said the systems should cut the energy use and cost of AI data centres. He also said Samsung brings memory manufacturing and supply chain knowledge beyond the money. The company has not yet proven its systems in commercial use at scale. It plans to sell hardware racks to firms wanting self-hosted inference, and to license its designs. Kastrup said shipments begin in 2028, with thousands of customers by 2030. Kastrup gave the figures to CNBC.
