Nvidia agreed to buy Hugging Face for about $13 billion. Hugging Face runs a widely used platform for sharing AI models and datasets. The price includes an equity-based retention program worth up to $1 billion. That money goes to Hugging Face staff who join Nvidia. Both companies confirmed the deal in a statement on Thursday. The purchase adds a popular software layer to Nvidia's chip and software holdings. Bloomberg reporter Rachel Metz and host Ed Ludlow discussed the deal on air. Ludlow also interviewed Hugging Face co-founder Thomas Wolf.
