Clay raised $115 million and more than doubled its valuation to $7.1 billion. The startup sells artificial intelligence tools for sales and marketing teams. Wellington Management led the round, an asset manager that backs companies heading toward stock market listings. Sequoia Capital, A16Z Perennial, DST Global and CapitalG also took part. Clay plans to announce the round on Wednesday. Over the past year it has focused on agents, software that carries out tasks on its own. Its agents identify promising customers and help plan outreach to business leads. Sequoia partner Alfred Lin said Clay is reworking the product into a self-learning engine. Databricks, valued at $190 billion, has also signalled interest in a public listing.
