Airbnb will launch an AI travel agent in the first half of 2027. The agent will help travelers plan trips and compare options. It will also manage bookings and provide assistance throughout a stay. The interface will use travel-specific components like maps and calendars. It will feel like generative UI, offering the right interface at the right time. The agent will help with reservations, payments, refunds, rebooking and safety support. Over time it will cover homes, hotels, services and experiences. Airbnb cited its 20 years of platform data as the foundation. CEO Brian Chesky said general-purpose agents are not suited for travel planning. The announcement came with Q3 revenue of $4.87 billion, up 19%.
