Release2026-10-06

Sierra and Meta announced Personal Agent Protocol. It is an open standard for how personal agents interact with businesses. Genesys, Instinct, Rocket, Shopify, Stripe, and Walmart are industry partners. The protocol uses OAuth for authentication. Consumers control agent access to their accounts. Companies decide what agents can do on their platforms. Agents can work via websites, APIs, or company agents. Sierra will publish the v0.1 specification later this month. Design workshops and a reference implementation are planned. Future extensions may include detailed permissions, push notifications, and payments.

What changed
