Release2026-10-20

Visa, BILL and Billtrust launched a live pilot for trusted AI agent payments. The pilot lets AI agents initiate and complete approved buyer invoice payments through supplier portals. It uses Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol to authenticate agents without shared logins. Buyer payments previously needing manual entry can now be automated. Supplier control and oversight remain intact. The pilot is live and processing end-to-end transactions. Buyers do not need to share supplier-portal credentials. Agents only execute payments already approved by the buyer. The model aims to accelerate cash flow for suppliers. It also reduces manual work for finance teams.
