XDOF is in late-stage talks to raise a Series B at a valuation of about $1.2 billion. 8VC would lead the round, according to several people with knowledge of the deal. The startup collects real-world data for training general-purpose robots, using remote-controlled robot arms and body sensors. It left stealth less than three months ago after a $70 million Series A. Investors approached the company after annualized revenue neared $50 million. XDOF says it already works with 20 customers, including several frontier AI labs. It is also partnering with UC Berkeley's AI Research lab on a large public robot training dataset called ABC. Terms are not final and could change. XDOF and 8VC did not respond to requests for comment. TechCrunch reported the talks.
