Release2026-09-30

Google added Assured Controls rules in the Admin Console. Admins can now scope Access Management and Access Approvals policies to specific Drive files. Classification labels can trigger these policies. DLP rules can auto-apply labels to sensitive files. Multinational teams can enforce regional data sovereignty. Public sector and financial firms can restrict support actions to authorized staff. The rollout began on 30 September 2026. It is gradual and may take up to 15 days. Access Approvals rules require Assured Controls or Assured Controls Plus. Access Management rules require Assured Controls Plus.
